Open-Rank Professor of Instruction or Professor of Practice Series
The University of Texas at San Antonio College of Sciences, Department of Biology, Health, and the Environment invites applications for multiple fixed-term, open-rank faculty positions in the Professor of Instruction or Professor of Practice series.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in biology or environmental science to support our BS in Biology, BS in Health Sciences, BS in Environmental Science, or BS in Environmental Studies. This position would have a baseline teaching requirement of 4 undergraduate or graduate lecture courses in the Biology, Health, and the Environment Department each semester. Faculty members teaching coordinated courses are expected to collaborate actively with colleagues and adhere to the parameters outlined in the teaching contract. This includes maintaining consistency in course content, assessments, and instructional practices to support the success of students and to promote a cohesive and effective learning environment for both students and faculty involved in the coordinated course.
Qualifications
- PhD in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field (Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Instruction) or MS in Biology, Environmental Science, or related field (Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Practice). An MD with relevant clinical experience may also be considered
- Experience teaching biology and/or environmental science lectures and labs.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
