Orientation & Student Experience Program Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Orientation & Student Experience Program Manager provides strategic leadership for the planning, coordination, and continuous improvement of New Student Orientation and student experience initiatives within Student Engagement. Working closely with the Director of Student Engagement, this position oversees the development and delivery of programs designed to support student transition, connection, and success. The Program Manager supervises the Student Experience & Orientation Program Specialist and leads efforts to design, implement, and assess orientation programs and large-scale engagement initiatives that enhance the overall student experience. This role collaborates with campus partners, including Admissions, Student Success, and Academic Affairs, to ensure orientation and engagement programs align with institutional priorities, retention goals, and student success outcomes. The position uses data-informed practices to evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements that strengthen student engagement across the university.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Establish goals, learning outcomes, and assessment plans for orientation and large-scale campus programming in conjunction with the Director of Student Engagement.
- Oversee the comprehensive design and long-term development of New Student Orientation and Student Experience Programming.
- Oversee data collection and analysis related to orientation effectiveness and student engagement programming.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements based on data.
- Ensure program alignment with student success and retention goals.
- Supervise the Student Experience & Orientation Program Specialist.
- Provide oversight of student leader selection, training structures, and performance management processes.
- Serve as the primary liaison to Admissions, Student Success, Academic Affairs, and other campus partners regarding orientation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in higher education administration from an accredited institution of higher education or a related field
- 3-4 years of professional work experience
- Excellent human relations and communication skills.
- Experience managing complex and detailed projects/tasks.
- In lieu of a degree, any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in higher education administration from an accredited institution of higher education or a related field
- 2-3 years of professional work experience
- Excellent human relations and communication skills.
- Experience managing complex and detailed projects/tasks.
