The Dean’s office of the College of Engineering is seeking an Outreach Coordinator that will lead the implementation of creative outreach, engagement, and partnership strategies that support K–12 STEM education initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with educational partners to design and deliver STEM workshops for K–12 students, with a focus on increasing participation among under-resourced schools and communities.
- Partner with College of Engineering faculty working to broaden participation in STEM by strengthening math and science literacy and engagement.
- Develop partnerships across academia, industry, and community organizations to support a diverse and globally competitive STEM workforce.
- Strengthen the College of Engineering’s network among K–12 educators and Out-of-School Time (OST) providers.
- Recruit and train two College of Engineering student ambassador groups (undergraduate and graduate) to develop engaging presentations and hands-on projects for K–12 audiences.
- Host on-campus programs and coordinate site visits for schools and OST organizations.
- Work both independently and collaboratively with College of Engineering staff and faculty.
- Collaborate with university units and community partners on co-sponsored seminars, workshops, and enrichment programs.
- Perform routine responsibilities in accordance with established policies and procedures on platforms such as Monday.com, Canva and Google Suite.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- STEM Education, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2–3 years of educational outreach or related experience; experience working with youth from diverse backgrounds
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
