P/T Women's Swimming Coach
Position Announcement
The primary function of the Assistant Coach is to assist the Head Coach in all program operations, including practice and meet coaching, contribute to positive team culture, identify, evaluate and recruit students that can succeed at Utah Tech both academically and athletically, assist with teaching and coaching in team and individual settings, and promote and coach Trailblazer Masters swimming camp.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Assist the Head Coach with all operations of running a successful college and masters swimming program.
- Collaborate with Head Coach on ensuring a student-centered environment that promotes student-athlete development, academic success, and athletic progression in alignment with institutional and program goals.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism on and off the deck toward student athletes, other coaches, parents, administrators, and members of the community
- Adhere all Utah Tech University, MPSF Conference and NCAA rules and regulations
- Attend regular athletic department and staff meetings
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and legislation and committed to abiding by them.
- Strong organizational and excellent interpersonal skills and have an "Athlete Focused" attitude and approach.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and decision-making abilities.
- Possess the ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize program growth and progression.
- Possess the ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
- Possess a high degree of confidentiality to available information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree, required
- Experience coaching swimming at the high school, collegiate or senior club level.
- Able to develop and maintain collaborative relationships, engage in creative problem-solving, and when working with others.
- Valid drivers license and evidence of insurability, required
- First Aid and AED certification, preferred
- Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and some evenings
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
