Part-Time Adjunct Instructor - Tai Chi (NC 32)
Description
Southwestern College is looking to hire a part-time instructor to teach Tai Chi:
NC 32 Tai Chi – Introduces the Chinese Tai Ji Quan (Tai Chi) traditional exercise for body and mind. Emphasizes muscle tone, flexibility, relaxation and stress reduction, especially for older adults. Consists of slow rhythmic movements and meditation techniques effective for relaxation, decreasing high blood pressure, and promoting overall wellness for all ages.
Class meets on Sundays, 11:00 a.m.-12:30p.m.
Classes may be held during weekdays, weekends, and/or evenings at any of the campus sites (Chula Vista, National City, Otay Mesa, and/or San Ysidro) and local community sites.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in health science, health education, biology, nursing, dietetics, or nutrition
OR
Associate degree in any of those subjects, AND four (4) years of professional experience related to the subject of the course taught.
Additional assessment is required for applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States. Applicants must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and must submit a copy of the evaluation with the application.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience teaching Tai Chi.
