Applications for Part-Time Adjunct Instructor pools are continually accepted (unless otherwise specified) by the District. Southwestern College is looking to hire a part-time instructor to teach a variety of Medical Office Professions courses including:
- Human Structures and Functions
- Medical Terminology
- Health Care Essentials
- Pathophysiology
- Pharmacology
- Clinical Procedures
- Electronic Health Records
- Physician Office Lab Procedures
- Introduction to Medical Billing and Coding
- Administrative Medical Assisting Procedures
Class modalities include face-to-face and online. Classes may be held during weekdays, and/or evenings at any of the campus sites (Chula Vista, National City, Otay Mesa, and/or San Ysidro) including local high schools and/or Donovan Prison.
Qualifications
Any bachelors degree or higher AND two (2) years of professional experience
OR
Any associates degree AND six (6) years of professional experience
Note: Professional experience must be directly related to the teaching assignment.
Additional assessment is required for applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States. Applicants must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and must submit a copy of the evaluation with the application.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelors degree in the discipline directly related to the faculty members teaching assignment or equivalent foreign degree plus two (2) years of professional experience directly related to the faculty members teaching assignment.
