Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

The School of Communication & Media prepares ethical, mindful, and effective communicators who combine human skills and technical expertise to pursue fulfilling careers, lead in their communities, tell impactful stories, and grow strong relationships. We blend industry-relevant programs with forward-thinking scholarship to build understanding of the power of communication to innovate, connect, and create.

With more than 400 full-time faculty and 8,100 degree-seeking students, the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences is dedicated to pioneering workforce readiness in the humanities and social sciences. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the School of Communication and Media for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate courses to support our lower-division and upper-division courses in the broad fields of Journalism & Emerging Media, Media & Entertainment, Organizational & Professional Communication, and Public Relations
  • Common courses for part-time faculty include Human Communication; Public Speaking; Writing for Public Communication; Communication Law, Ethics, and Diversity; and Digital Media Production
  • Part-time faculty may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campus.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Communication, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.

OR

  • A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous college-level teaching experience
  • Relevant professional experience
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
