Part-time and Limited Term Faculty Positions in the Department of Physics
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Physics for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Teach calculus-based and/or algebra-based freshman/sophomore level Physics, including lectures, recitations, and laboratories.
- Prepare and deliver lectures to undergraduate students; prepare and conduct recitations (problem-solving sessions) to accompany algebra-based and calculus-based physics courses; prepare, set-up and direct freshman and sophomore-level physics laboratories.
- Create and administer examinations; evaluate and grade students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers.
- Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records.
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, lecture presentations, and worksheets.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Physics or a closely related discipline is required.
OR
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses at a 2-year or 4-year college or university.
- Record of past teaching introductory physics at a college or university.
