Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Assists with artwork preparation, framing, collections care, storage projects, gallery rotations, collection access activities, and exhibition production while also supporting museum-wide installation and de-installation projects.
- Works collaboratively with the Works on Paper Preparator, Registration staff, and Installation team.
- Helps ensure the safe preparation, handling, storage, accessibility, and presentation of collection objects in accordance with professional museum standards.
- Supports the preparation, care, and presentation of works on paper.
- Assists with framing, exhibition preparation, and gallery rotations.
- Assists with collections-care activities, storage projects, and object preparation.
- Supports collection accessibility initiatives, including retrievals, viewings, and related activities.
- Maintains materials, supplies, equipment, and workspaces associated with PDP operations.
- Assists with collection storage and rehousing projects.
- Supports acquisitions processing and collection organization activities.
- Assists with collection retrievals, viewings, and related access initiatives.
- Supports inventory management, documentation, and departmental operations.
- Assists with exhibition installations and de-installations.
- Supports artwork movement, preparation, packing, and gallery setup.
- Assists with exhibition maintenance, gallery preparation, and logistical support.
- Contributes to departmental projects and special initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
- Some prior experience into related field such as art Museum, gallery, library, archive, framing, conservation-support, or art-handling.
SKILLS
Required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise manual work.
- Ability to learn museum collections-care procedures and handling practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform physical work associated with museum preparation, collections support, and exhibition installation activities.
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to communicate effectively and to perform both sedentary work and regular physical activity associated with museum preparation, collections support, and exhibition installation. Duties include standing and moving for extended periods; lifting, carrying, and supporting heavy objects up to 75 pounds; using tools and operating equipment; and completing preparation and installation work with precision and accuracy. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation.

Monday-Friday, normal museum operating hours;
Work hours may be adjusted during install/deinstall periods.
