The Part-Time Cook prepares and serves quality food while following established recipes, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Supports daily kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, cooking, serving, inventory management, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment while delivering excellent customer service.
- Prepares and serves food items according to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
- Helps to make sure the station is stocked with supplies for the meal.
- Works with standardized recipes, follows instructions to prepare and serve food for their station.
- Performs ware washing and dishwashing tasks as needed.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations.
- Follows food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Collaborated with team members to support daily kitchen operations and provide excellent customer service.
- Monitors food temperatures and storage to ensure freshness and safety.
- Works with team leads, sous chefs, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and management to help coordinate and execute the preparation of a wide variety of menu items.
- Maintains a positive, professional, and service-oriented attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Supports special events, catering functions, and other food service operations as needed.

Required
- General knowledge at high school level.

- Ability to maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene.
- Ability to review and analyze impending menus to determine appropriate levels for supplies.
This position requires tasks typically associated with back-of-the-house food service work and cleaning/ware washing. It involves periods of both sedentary work and times of frequent movement about the workspace. Using commercial kitchen equipment and tools, moving supplies weighing from 20 - 50 pounds, and effective communication skills are necessary. The role requires the ability to detect items in close proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception. This role also will work indoors around both hot and cold temperatures and loud noises. This role involves handling meat and plant-based food products as well as a variety of ingredients that may include some or all of the top 9 allergens in the preparation of menu items and during the course of cleaning and ware-washing tasks. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Work HoursMonday - Sunday
Management reserves the right to adjust hours based on business needs.
This positions is capped at 29 hours per week.
