Description
Mohave Community College is seeking a dedicated and collaborative part-time Faculty, Clinical Coordinator in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) to support the clinical education component of the program. This is a 12-month appointment at 20 hours per week.
This position combines instructional and clinical coordination responsibilities in support of student learning and program accreditation standards. While on-campus presence is required for teaching, labs, and scheduled meetings, many administrative and clinical coordination responsibilities may be completed remotely. Work schedule is flexible and coordinated with the Program Director to ensure student and program needs are met.
This position may function independently or collaboratively with an additional part-time Clinical Coordinator, with responsibilities shared as appropriate.
Typical Duties
Clinical Education Coordination (Approximately 40%)
The Clinical Coordinator will:
- Manage the clinical education component of the program, including development, goal setting, implementation, assessment, and evaluation.
- Develop and maintain student clinical rotation schedules.
- Supervise and conduct clinical site visits.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clinical affiliate administrators, clinical instructors, and staff.
- Identify and recommend new clinical affiliates and clinical instructors.
- Provide orientation and in-service education for clinical instructors.
- Maintain student clinical records, evaluations, and required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with JRC-DMS and CAAHEP accreditation standards related to clinical education.
- Assist students in completing clinical documentation required for credentialing eligibility (e.g., ARDMS).
- Participate in the program accreditation process, including documentation, assessment reporting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Instructional Responsibilities (Approximately 60%)
The Faculty/Clinical Coordinator will:
- Provide classroom, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction in accordance with approved course outlines.
- Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain grade and attendance records consistent with college policy.
- Assess student learning outcomes at the course, clinical, and program levels.
- Participate in curriculum development, course revisions, and textbook/material selection.
- Assist in scheduling courses in collaboration with the Program Director.
- Provide academic advising to enrolled and prospective students.
- Maintain laboratory and clinical equipment oversight, including coordination of maintenance and documentation.
Instructional duties require scheduled on-campus presence; preparation, grading, and planning may be completed remotely.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree (Bachelor's preferred)
- Current credential(s) appropriate to assigned concentration(s) ( RDMS-AB & RVT)
- Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer
- Documented experience in supervision, instruction, or student evaluation
- Knowledge of clinical education processes and professional standard
This position may be one of two part-time Clinical Coordinators who collaboratively manage clinical education responsibilities under the supervision of the Program Director.
