Part-Time Faculty: ECN 422 Intro to Statistics and Econometrics (Summer Session 1)
Job Description
The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University seeks a part-time faulty to teach ECN 422 Introduction to Statistics and Econometrics to undergraduate economic students.
Course description: Basic theory and application of probability, statistical inference, and regression analysis for economics majors. Designed to expose the student to the statistical techniques economists use in estimating, testing, and forecasting economic relationships.
This position is anticipated to be filled on a fully remote basis. Not all geographical areas within the United States are eligible. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of MA in Economics with excellent teaching experience of economic courses at the undergraduate level and strong class evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the start of class date
- Preparation of lectures, projects, or other student assignments
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course
- Meeting all designated class periods
- Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
- Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner
- Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations
- Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty
