Job Summary
Gordon State College is recruiting for part-time faculty to teach courses in Philosophy.
Responsibilities
- Teaching: Teach assigned courses ensuring high-quality delivery of content and student engagement.
- Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development, review, and updating of course materials and syllabus to ensure alignment with academic standards.
- Student Support: Provide timely feedback on assignments, assessments, and exams; hold office hours for student consultations; and offer academic guidance and mentorship.
- Assessment and Grading: Assess student performance through assignments, tests, projects, and other methods as defined by the course syllabus.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow faculty members to improve instructional quality and student success.
- Professional Development: Stay updated on teaching methods and research to improve instructional effectiveness.
- Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and any other necessary documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Philosophy with 18 or more semester credit hours in that discipline.
- Two (2) years teaching experience in higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in Philosophy.
- Three (3) - Five (5) years of teaching at the college level, preferably in an online environment.
