(Part-Time Faculty Pool) - TRIO Student Support Services

Monterey Peninsula College is currently accepting applications to establish a pool for future part-time teaching assignments in this discipline.
TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federal grant funded program designed to assist first-generation, low-income, and/or students with disabilities pursue a higher education.
Example of Duties
POSITION DEFINITION: Under the supervision of the Dean of Career Education and the guidance of the Department, the part-time instructor will provide instruction in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, class schedules, and Governing Board policy; evaluate progress of students concerning educational matters, and perform other instructional related duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist students in the development and review of their Student Education Plans
- Assist students in developing short-term and long-range educational goals with an emphasis to earn an Associate's degree and for transfer to a four-year institution
- Provide referral and follow-up to appropriate Student Services programs and resources
- Develop and conduct various topic workshops topics (i.e. follow-up services, student success, study-skills, time management, financial literacy, career/major exploration, etc.)
- Participate in recruitment, assessment, orientation, early alert, follow-up, and advising activities
- Report student information to appropriate databases
- Teach Personal Development (PERS) course
- Attend department meetings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development
- OR The equivalent.
