Job Summary
The Department of STEM offers courses in Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Mathematics and Physics. We offer a BS in Biology as well as Associates of Science degree pathways.
Seeking part-time faculty to teach freshman level courses in:
- Biology (majors and non-majors)
- Chemistry (in-person for McDonough Center)
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Engineering
- Environmental Science
- Integrated Science (Education Majors)
- Mathematics
- Math Education
Modality of instruction depends on subject but in most cases asynchronous courses are preferred.
Responsibilities
Teaching: Teach assigned courses in the School of Business and Professional Studies, ensuring high-quality delivery of content and student engagement.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development, review, and updating of course materials and syllabus to ensure alignment with industry trends and academic standards.
Student Support: Provide timely feedback on assignments, assessments, and exams; hold office hours for student consultations; and offer academic guidance and mentorship.
Assessment and Grading: Assess student performance through assignments, tests, projects, and other methods as defined by the course syllabus.
Collaboration: Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of academic initiatives. Collaborate with fellow faculty members to improve instructional quality and student success.
Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest research, teaching methods, and industry practices to continuously improve instructional effectiveness and stay relevant in the field.
Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and any other necessary documentation.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in related field, with 18 or more semester credit hours in that discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral Degree in the subject area, commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, and prior teaching experience at the collegiate level.
