Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to:
- learn procedures and practices for food handling, sanitation, cleanliness.
- read and understand basic recipes and reports used in the food service operation.
- provide exemplary customer service to all customers.
- work safely with basic food service equipment and utensils.
- use computer cash register.
- understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Basic math skills for recipe and quantity control.
- Ability:
- work effectively with customers and other employees.
- unload carts and trucks of food products weighing up to 40 lbs.
- move more than 40 pounds using standard food service industry carts.
- Must have a good attendance record.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Must follow basic dress code as established by branded concepts and hygiene standards set by University Dining.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Commitment to inclusive practices and working with diverse student populations.
- Valid driver's license.
- Successful interview.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six months food service experience

- This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Flexible work schedule as dictated by the needs of the university.
- Dining and Conference Services staff may be required to work evenings and weekends.
- Dining and Conference Services staff, as essential employees, need to arrive at work on a timely basis even when there is a publicly announced delayed opening or closing.
