Part - Time Instructor, Jumpstart Criminal Justice - FY 2026
Job Description
Teach Criminal Justice classes with the CSN Jumpstart Program at your High School. **Your high school must agree to offering these courses.
Responsibilities of a Jumpstart Criminal Justice instructor include but are not limited to:
- Lecture for a variety of criminal justice courses
- Develop lesson plans, syllabi, and course materials in conjunction with Department Chair
- Teaching approved Criminal Justice classes at your high school.
- Meeting program and student learning outcomes.
- Must be familiar with and able to navigate the learning management system CANVAS.
- Submitting syllabus to CSN Criminal Justice and Emergency Services department.
- Communicating CSN important dates and deadlines to students: Drop/Add, Withdraw with or without a "w" etc.
- Communicating with CSN Criminal Justice and Emergency Services department regarding questions/issues.
- Ensuring CSN class roster matches high school roster; must be able to navigate MyCSN.
- Maintaining course rigor; must hold students to college-level standards.
- Inputting final grades into CSN's system by semester deadline.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Criminal Justice or closely related discipline from an accredited College/University
- 5 years of experience working directly for a criminal justice agency
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching college criminal justice or related courses.
- Experience with CANVAS or other online learning management systems.
Salary Information
$1,000 per class per semester
Exempt: Yes
Full-Time Equivalent: 48.8%
