Part - Time Instructor, Microbiology - FY 2026
Job Description
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by department need. This position may close early if the hiring need is filled or due to volume of applications received.
Core Responsibilities:
- Teach transferable, entry-level Microbiology lectures and/or laboratories
- Develop syllabi and course materials as directed by the Lead Faculty Member and/or Lab Coordinator
- Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
Required Qualifications for teaching Lectures
- MS in Biological Sciences or a closely related field from an accredited College or University.
- Experience teaching Microbiology Lectures.
- Ability to use educational technologies such as Learning Management Systems and PowerPoint.
- Ability and willingness to use email for official communications.
Required Qualifications for teaching Labs
- BS in Biological Sciences or a closely related field from an accredited College or University.
- Experience teaching Microbiology labs or experience in a laboratory situation.
- Ability to use educational technologies such as Learning Management Systems and PowerPoint.
- Ability and willingness to use email for official communications.
Starting Salary
$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester. $46.25 Hourly for labs.
Exempt: Yes
Full-Time Equivalent: 15.0%
