Part-time Lecturer, Advanced Topics in Data Science
NYU Paris is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach an undergraduate course in Data Science, Advanced Topics in Data Science: Economic Analysis with Data. The course is held at NYU academic center in Paris and is offered to undergraduate students.

Teaching commences in September 2026; courses meet for 2.5 hours per week for a 14.5 week term. Lecturers will be expected to teach an additional recitation session for 1.5 hours per week.
Advanced Topics in Data Science: Economic Analysis with Data
Prerequisite: Introduction to Data Science
This course offers a comprehensive introduction to applied data science through the lens of economic analysis. Students will master the end-to-end research pipeline: from automated data acquisition and advanced visualization to the implementation of modern causal inference frameworks. This course bridges contemporary data science with classical economic theory, emphasizing the transition from raw digital datasets to validated econometric methods. It prioritizes the application of quasi-experimental designs to disentangle complex market endogeneity, culminating in a formal defense of empirical findings.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Applied Quantitative Science (e.g. Economics, Statistics, Data Science, etc.) and two to three years relevant teaching experience.
The appointed person will have full responsibility for teaching and coordinating the course. The course is taught to a small group and is offered to undergraduate students, mostly in their second or third year of study. All students are NYU students enrolled in NYU degrees in New York, Abu Dhabi or Shanghai who come to study at NYU Paris for one semester. Classes take place at our Academic Centre in Paris.
Candidates must be eligible to work in France.
