Part-Time Lecturer in HaBS (Health Services Technology (BAT) & Medical Terminology) 2026-2027
Scope of Job
We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's student body as a Part-Time Lecturer of Health and Biomedical Sciences beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. Part-time lecturers are paid per course taught commensurate with experience and/or qualifications and serve the needs of the program, department, and college.
Ability to teach Health Services and Medical Terminology coursework in the on-line setting, availability for UTRGV required training for on-line teaching and the ability to hold on-line office hours and provide student support.
UTRGV Faculty will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and advancing the university, college, and program missions as well as the commitment to the UTRGV's strategic plan, vision, mission, values, and core priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
A master's or doctoral degree in a health profession, public health, health science, healthcare informatics, or healthcare administration. A master's degree in another health field/profession appropriate for course/subject matter may be considered. Applicants with a master's degree must have 3 years' work experience or 1 peer-reviewed, scholarly publication in the field.
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Registered Dietician (RD) to teach nutrition courses, Health Informatics Certification (RHIT, RHIA, CHDA, PMP or other informatics certification) to teach health informatics courses.
