Chapman University seeks applications for part-time lecturers to teach courses in its graduate programs (Elementary/Multiple Subject, Secondary/Single Subject: English, Math, Science, History/Social Science, and Music, Education Specialist/Special Education) in Teacher Education in Summer and Fall. Contracts begin a week or two prior to the academic term and conclude when grades are due.

Responsibilities
This is a part-time lecturer position in Teacher Education for Summer and Fall academic terms that requires work to be performed in Orange, California, and has in-person teaching responsibilities and required on-campus availability at Chapman’s Orange campus.
The lecturer will collaborate with the Director of Teacher Education Programs to design the assigned course section from existing course syllabi and outlines, with consultation and mentorship.
Responsibilities each week include preparing course lesson plans, coordinating class materials, holding office hours, and grading assignments submitted by the students.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Earned Masters degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Literacy, Learning Sciences, Special Education, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid California clear teaching credential in the area of the course to be taught.
- Current knowledge of the adopted California P-12 content standards, frameworks, and accountability systems.
- Knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, ethnicity, and gender orientation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current TPE and TPA requirements for teacher education candidates.
- Ability to teach in person in Orange, California.
Desired Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate (e.g., Ed.D., Ph.D.) in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Learning Sciences, Special Education, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Dual credential and/or NBCT certification.
- Minimum 5 years K-12 teaching experience.
