Part-Time Lecturers in Information Studies

The UCLA Ed&IS Department of Information Studies is a powerhouse in an increasingly vital field. SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Department of Information Studies at UCLA seeks to hire temporary, part-time lecturers to teach within the MLIS graduate program. Course(s) may include the following, and the lecturers may also be assigned additional courses according to the instructional needs in the department and in conformity with departmental lecturer workload policies:
- INF STD 423. Public Libraries
Units: 4.0
Lecture, four hours. Government, organization, and administration of municipal, county, and regional public libraries; developments in changing patterns of public library service. S/U or letter grading. - INF STD 289. Motion Picture Film Preservation
Units: 4.0
Seminar, three and one half hours. Study offers opportunities for in-depth study in motion picture film preservation. Participants learn about film preservation principles, preservation assessment, and grant writing. Readings draw on literature from various fields including library, archives, museums, and cinema studies.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include lecturing, conducting regularly scheduled office hours, and the writing and grading of assignments and exams.
