- January 24, 2026 – May 16, 2026 – Saturday 7:30am-2:15pm
- January 20, 2026 – May 19, 2026 – Tuesday 5:30pm-8:20pm & Thursday 5:30pm-9:15pm
- Summer 2026: In-Person Courses- morning afternoon, and evening
STANDARD HOURS: Flexibility in schedule is required for day, night or weekend classes as needed.
SALARY: $45.00 per class hour contracted
POSITION SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instruction and assessment of learning outcomes.
- Utilize engaging instructional strategies and methodologies which foster student success both in and outside of the classroom.
- Maintain accurate student records and communication.
- Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals.
- Provide educational leadership and work effectively with faculty, administration, and campus support staff.
- Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation.
- Comply with College policies and practices related to instruction, assessment, and delivery.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be willing to commit to all required course contact hours for each class assignment as scheduled.
- Responsible for maintaining curriculum rigor in alignment with state requirements.
- Course Description: history, morphology, physiology, nutritional growth requirements, metabolism, methods of identification. Focus on disease-causing microorganisms, appropriate prevention, treatment, control mechanisms. Specific/non-specific host defense mechanisms, applications of immunology examined.
- Required to manage the instructional process, to include but not limited to: course preparation, student attendance records, student assessment, grading, and must be accessible to students outside of scheduled classroom time.
- Final grades posted within 72-hours of course completion.
- Assignments will emphasize courses delivered in traditional and alternate modes, scheduled weekdays, evenings and/or weekends in classrooms or science lab.
- Maintain electronic communication with students and staff, in regard to course information, through NWTC email and/or Canvas.
- Work effectively with Microbiology faculty and department team members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree and a combination of 18 graduate/undergraduate credits in Microbiology or related subfield.
- Minimum of one year (2,000 hours) of paid occupational experience outside the field of education, preferably in Microbiology/Immunology in a hospital or medical setting.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching experience with adult learners is preferred
