Department of Accounting: Part-time Research Assistant (One Position for 12 Months with Possibility of Extension)

Job duties:

The RA will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) to conduct research project entitled “The Impact of Tax Enforcement on Corporate Tax Avoidance During Covid-19 and Beyond (URG/24/19)”, which is funded by the Hong Kong Shue Yan University’s University Research Fund.

The appointee will be responsible for the following tasks:

a. Manually collecting data, entering, processing, and analyzing data;

b. Providing support in the literature review, data management, and data analysis;

c. Making phone calls for data collection, liaising with different parties for data collection;

d. Performing any other administrative duties as assigned by the PI to support the operation of the research project.

Requirements:

Applicants should have:

i. A Master’s degree (or above) in Accounting/Finance or a related field, PhD degree holder is preferred;

ii. Strong background in qualitative and computational research methods;

iii. Good interpersonal and communication skills (proficiency in English and good written skills in English and Chinese);

iv. Exhibit a positive attitude, self-motivation, and have an ability to work independently and collaboratively;

v. Be willing to learn new concepts related to business applications.

Terms and conditions:

The appointment will be made on the basis of a one-year contract, with a possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement and funding availability. The remuneration package will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
