ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Retrieve all dishes, pots, pans, utensils and other items from kitchen and other areas and ensure all are washed and sanitized in a timely manner throughout the shift.
- Learn and operate all aspects of a high temperature dish washing machine.
- Clean/sanitize, empty trash, sweep, and maintain cleanliness of the dish room/area.
- Adhere to company sanitation procedures.
- Must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to work as part of a team with co-workers and kitchen staff/management, have the ability to learn and operate dish machine, and the ability to work alone. Food Handler's certificate from the County of San Diego is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequently required to stand, walk/move, reach, bend, stoop, wipe, and move throughout the dish room for up to 8 hours. Must be able to move, lift or carry heavy objects or materials up to 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND HAZARDS: Work is regularly performed in a dish room area that frequently exposes employees to cleaning compounds, chemicals, and humid temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually high. This position requires on-site presence due to the scope of the duties, and it would not be eligible for remote work.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs. This may include opening, mid-day, and closing shifts, as well as night shifts, weekends, and holidays throughout the year.
