Part-time Tutor I (Communications and New Media)

Part-Time Tutor I (Communications and New Media)

We are seeking applicants to teach as tutors in courses under the undergraduate programmes in the following areas: public speaking, media writing, public relations writing, user experience design, media policy, digital/social media for strategic communication, interactive writing, and game design. We also welcome interdisciplinary topics such as basic chemistry, biology, and physiological medicine. Programming skills in languages such as JavaScript and R are also desirable.

Anticipated Start Date: 1 July 2025

Qualifications

Successful candidates must have at least a Bachelor's degree in communications or a closely affiliated discipline, along with skills and expertise in the relevant field by the start date of the appointment. A genuine enthusiasm for working closely with students and a dedicated commitment to fostering student learning are indispensable qualities. Candidates should have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, and possess meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Course Coordinators and other team members involved in the courses to ensure effective design, delivery, and assessment, focusing on the students' learning journey.
  • Conduct student consultations on the courses they are teaching.
  • Grade assessments.
  • Provide other course-related duties as needed.
