Additional Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR NURSE PRACTITIONER:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with master’s degree in nursing.
- National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
- Licensure; or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.
EXPERIENCE:
- Clinical/surgical urology experience preferred.
- Eligible new graduates will be considered.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Bachelor’s degree as Physician Assistant or master’s degree as Physician Assistant required.
- Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant (PA) training program required.
- Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants required.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine or WV Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Master’s level degree as Physician Assistant preferred
EXPERIENCE:

Job Summary – Part-Time Urology APP (Telehealth)
The Urology Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) – Telehealth will provide high-quality, patient-centered care through virtual visits in support of urology services. This part-time role focuses on managing established patients via telehealth, supporting continuity of care, improving access, and ensuring appropriate triage for in-person evaluation when indicated.
The APP will work collaboratively with urology physicians and the broader care team to assess patient needs, provide clinical guidance, and support efficient, safe care delivery in a virtual setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct telehealth visits for follow-up care and clinical evaluation
- Assess patient concerns and determine the need for in-person visits or additional testing
- Manage medication refill requests and related clinical follow-up
- Review patient history, symptoms, and available diagnostic information to guide care decisions
- Provide patient education and counseling related to ongoing urologic care
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and administrative teams to ensure coordinated care
- Document all encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
- Adhere to clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies
