Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Clinical Director, Department of Pediatrics
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks an MD, MD/PhD or equivalently trained physician to serve as Clinical Director for Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular therapy, joining our growing Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and to lead development of the clinical program in partnership with division, department and institutional leadership. The appointee will join an outstanding Pediatric Hematology/Oncology group of clinicians and scientists with expertise in malignant and non-malignant hematologic disorders, pediatric sarcomas and embryonal tumors, central nervous system malignancies, as well as stem cell transplant, CAR T cell and immunotherapy. The appointee will be welcomed into the highly collaborative environment of the University of Virginia. Ideal candidates will have deep clinical expertise in autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplants, CAR T cell infusions and their associated toxicities, as well as expertise in program development toward FACT accreditation. Both outpatient and inpatient care responsibilities are fundamental to the position, as is having the heart of a teacher as our program grows. The chosen candidate will be appointed at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level and enjoy generous compensation and benefits. Board Certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology with focused additional training in stem cell transplant and cellular therapy are required for the position. We also seek those with strong clinical skills, an ability to connect with children, their families and a talented staff, as well as those who will participate in clinical/translational research and mentoring of learners.
