Per Diem-Hospital Unit Service Coordinator-Emergency room-Variable
Position Summary
The Emergency Department secretary/monitor technician provides clerical support to the nurses, physicians, and Department Director. In addition to the timely and efficient initiation of patient care orders; he/she is responsible for coordinating communication within the department and hospital. He/she will maintain par levels of necessary office and chart supplies and follow through with equipment repair and maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
- BLS Certification
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
- Previous acute care hospital experience
- Previous experience as unit secretary/monitor technician
- Basic Dysrhythmia Course
