CRC/SFB 1739 | Dept. of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery & Medical Clinic I – Cardiology, University Hospital RWTH Aachen
As part of our recently announced call for 11 PhD positions within CRC/SFB 1739, we're highlighting a project investigating how obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) affect oral tissue remodelling and regeneration after reconstructive surgery, supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Dr. Frank Hölzle and PD Dr. Emiel P.C. van der Vorst.
You will work with murine intraoral flap models, advanced imaging and histology, perfusion monitoring, cytokine profiling, and cellular studies on gingival fibroblasts and endothelial cells — combining in vivo, in vitro, and translational approaches, including clinical validation.
Looking for: MSc in Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Molecular Medicine, or related field.
