CRC/SFB 1739 | Dept. of Dental Materials and Biomaterials Research, University Hospital RWTH Aachen
As part of our recently announced call for 11 PhD positions within CRC/SFB 1739, we're highlighting a project bioengineering a hydrogel-based 3D in vitro tissue model of the periodontal ligament under controlled mechanical loading, supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Horst Fischer, co-supervised by Dr. Jitske Jansen (Dept. of Nephrology).
You will synthesize and characterize tailored hydrogel blends, build a multicellular dynamic in vitro model, study effects of cyclic loading in a bioreactor, and investigate immune cell effects on tissue remodeling in collaboration with Dr. Jansen's group.
Looking for: MSc in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology, or related field.
