PhD position in experimental cardiovascular research
About the Project
2 PhD positions in experimental cardiovascular research with a focus on inflammation and cardio-immunology in the context of myocardial remodeling and atherosclerosis.
Cardiovascular diseases are the number one cause of morbidity and mortality in Western societies. By applying cutting-edge tools in cell phenotyping, imaging, and transcriptomics, we focus on the contribution of innate and adaptive immune cells to cardiovascular biology, bridging immunology and cardiovascular pathology. A special interest lies in cell biology and in the molecular signaling pathways that drive (cardio-)vascular inflammation and immunology. In addition, we will explore the potential of novel immune-cell therapies to treat cardiovascular diseases.
We offer
- The opportunity to work on fascinating scientific topics in an international and highly collaborative research environment of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC1525) “Cardio-ImmuneInterfaces”
- Continuous scientific mentoring and career support
- PhD candidates enroll in the Graduate School of Life Sciences in Würzburg
- Competitive TV-L salary
