CRC/SFB 1739 | Dept. of Prosthodontics and Biomaterials, University Hospital RWTH Aachen
As part of our recently announced call for 11 PhD positions within CRC/SFB 1739, we're highlighting a project uncovering the molecular circuits behind the bidirectional relationship between periodontitis and metabolic liver disease, jointly supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Stefan Wolfart and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Kai Markus Schneider (University Hospital Dresden).
You will work across scales — from mouse models (ligature/diet-induced and genetic steatohepatitis models, µCT imaging, microbiota profiling, metabolic phenotyping) to a prospective clinical cohort of liver transplant patients with longitudinal dental exams and multi-site sampling.
Looking for: MSc (or equivalent, e.g. Staatsexamen) in Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, Dentistry, Medicine, or related field.
