Physical Therapy Faculty | Temporary Part Time (.25) 2026-2027 Academic Year
Position Summary
The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Slippery Rock University is seeking applicants for a temporary part-time (25%) faculty member in our well-established, fully accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Slippery Rock University is a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
Responsibilities will include teaching in the area of professional practice in physical therapy as well as other areas of need within the department’s curriculum. Other faculty responsibilities include service at the department level and the pursuit of scholarly activity or professional development. All faculty are required to comply with accreditation requirements of the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education ( CAPTE ).
Minimum Qualifications
- Current unrestricted license or eligibility for PT licensure in Pennsylvania.
- A minimum of 3 years post-licensure clinical practice in physical therapy.
- Content expertise in professional practice, governance, health care policy and regulations, communication including documentation, ethics and professionalism, legal considerations, and business practices.
- Successful candidates must possess strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
- Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the education of diverse populations.
- Successful performance in an interview and teaching demonstration is a required component of the application process.
Preferred Qualifications
- Content expertise and experience in leadership, interprofessional education in healthcare, management of physical therapy services, and involvement in professional organizations.
- Current clinical practice and/or advanced training in key content areas of professional practice.
- Experience with in-person and/ or online teaching.
- Strong skills in the use of educational technology.
- Previous administrative experience.
