Job Title: Physician - Emergency Medicine (Open Rank/Track Faculty and Associated Faculty)
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an Emergency Medicine Physician to join the Department of Emergency Medicine. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Adjunct faculty positions are also available.
Position Overview
Emergency Medicine physician directs and provides licensed medical care in the specialty area of emergency medicine. Responsibilities include diagnosis and treatment of patients, education and collaboration with staff, medical students, residents and others, and clinical research. The Emergency Medicine physician manages complex and unpredictable emergent situations.
Department/Division Overview
The Department of Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center operates across multiple locations, including the University Hospital Emergency Department, East Hospital Emergency Department, and Advanced Urgent Cares treating approximately 120,000 patients in the Emergency Departments and 75,000 patients in the Advanced Urgent Cares annually.
Duties and Responsibilities
Directs and provides patient care, including the teaching and supervision of medical students and residents for patients being treated in the Emergency Department, Advanced Urgent Cares, or other approved locations. Academic and educational development responsibilities including teaching, research and service requirements as assigned by the Chairperson, Department of Emergency Medicine.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited residency training program required
- Current license to practice medicine from the State of Ohio Medical Board required
- Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Emergency Medicine required
- Active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required.
Compensation Package
Salary: Commensurate with experience level, Bonus, Relocation Assistance. Retirement Benefits: 14% Employer match, Supplemental Retirement Accounts 403(b) and 457(b).
