Physician – Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Medical Oncologist - OUTPATIENT ONLY (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
Position Overview
Physician to serve as a member of the Division of Medical Oncology in outpatient services only, within the Department of Internal Medicine; directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in outpatient settings; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs; performs relevant oncology procedures; orders special procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patient and their families; directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities; serves as preceptor and provides bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, undergraduate & graduate students, nursing staff, and other allied medical professionals in the specialty of oncology; ensures continuing medical education requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.
This is a brand new position in our Clinical Excellence Track that will allow the Medical Oncologist to focus 70% of his time in outpatient clinic with the patients!. This position will average 3 ½ days clinic; 1 ½ days research/admin.
