Porter / Door Attendant A
Position Summary
Reporting to the Building Superintendent, under general direction, the Porter/Door Attendant is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of CU apartment buildings and grounds area.
Responsibilities
- He/she cleans and maintains building and grounds complex: elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms, vacant apartments, etc.; trims trees and shrubs; fertilizes, seeds and mows lawn; sweeps and hoses sidewalks; removes snow and spreads salt as needed.
- In addition, the Porter/Door Attendant will screen persons entering the building, announce visitors and assure building security.
- Lobby must be kept clean and neat at all times.
- All incoming and out going packages will be handled by this employee.
- Neat appearance and excellent command of the English language are extremely important.
- Heavy lifting may be required.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma and/or its equivalent required.
- Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance a plus.
