Offer Description
The work within the project Development of One-pot Multienzymatic Cascade Systems for Sustainable Synthesis of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients will concern in particular: the designing and conducting of synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients via biocatalytic approach; application of ionic liquids and/or deep eutectic solvents for API synthesis; optimization of the process conditions with emphasis on reduction in use of organic solvents; controlling the conditions of the process and its efficiency; performing of the flow synthesis of API.

Qualification and project criteria:
- Obtaining a doctoral degree no earlier than 7 years before January 1, 2026.
- Obtaining a doctoral degree in an entity other than Poznan University of Technology.
- During the period of drawing a salary within the framework of this project, the person employed within the framework of this project will not draw any other remuneration from funds allocated as direct costs from research projects financed within the framework of the Polish National Science Centre competitions;
- During the period of drawing remuneration within the framework of this project, a person employed within the framework of this project will not draw remuneration from another employer based on an employment contract, including an employer based outside the territory of Poland.
Specific Requirements
Other criteria
- Ph.D. degree in chemistry, chemical technology, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, biotechnology, biological sciences or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience working in an experimental laboratory, preferably in chemical and/or materials sciences.
- Proven scientific achievements in the topics of biocatalysis/organic chemistry/biotechnology (at least 2 scientific articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals as co-author).
- Knowledge and experience in the in analysing and optimising of biocatalytic processes. Laboratory experience in biocatalysis and organic synthesis. Knowledge in alternative solvents (ILs, DES) and the impact of process conditions on the synthesis process.
- Predisposition to conduct scientific experimental work.
- At least very good oral and written English skills (B2 level or equivalent, certified), ability to read, understand, and write in scientific English.
- Knowledge and ability to operate computer software.
- Analytical thinking, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Availability, desire for self-improvement, strong motivation for scientific work, creativity in solving problems, self-reliance, and ability to work in a team.

Duration: 24 months

Amount of financing: Salary of a ca. PLN 8,660 gross/month.

Eligibility criteria
The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set forth in Article 113, 116(2)(3) of the Polish Law of July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science, and under § 76 (3) of the PUT Statute, meet the following eligibility criteria:
- have at least a doctoral degree;
- have relevant scientific achievements;
- take an active part in scientific life.
Selection process
The first stage of the competition procedure is the formal verification of the submitted documents. Offers that pass formal verification are subject to substantive evaluation during which a recruitment interview may be conducted (directly or via electronic communication channels), by prior arrangement with the Candidate.
When selecting Candidates, Poznan University of Technology is guided by the principles contained in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The competition may not be resolved due to a lack of candidates meeting the requirements.
Poznan University of Technology does not provide accommodation during the term of the contract.

- Information on scientific and teaching achievements (previous scientific achievements, publications in scientific journals, distinctions resulting from scientific research, scholarships, awards, scientific internships at home and abroad, participation in research projects.
