Post-Doc Research Associate
Position Summary
An NIMH-funded Postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Psychiatry in the Child and Adolescent Anxiety and Mood Disorders Program (CHAAMP). We have several ongoing and completed large-scale studies investigating social motivation, suicide and psychopathology risk, and childhood adversity using various methodologies in ages spanning 8-22. Applicants will primarily be involved in MRI data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation related to the fMRI components of these studies. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will benefit from both the outstanding environment in CHAAMP and the collaborations between UNC Psychiatry and Psychology & Neuroscience. The candidate will be given opportunities to present their research work at national and international scientific meetings and will be highly supported in grant applications.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD in Neuroscience, Cognitive, Clinical, or Developmental Psychology or related field is required.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Proficiency in analyzing functional magnetic resonance imaging data.
- Demonstrated skill in manuscript preparation, managing large datasets, multivariate analytical approaches, and/or computational modeling.
- Interact cross-functionally: work with people across the team to find creative solutions and deliver them.
- Skilled at data visualization and presentation: The candidate may be called upon to present work at national and international research conferences as well as to internal and local external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Candidates with prior experience in human research studies involving children and adolescents with mood disorders as well as at least one first-author publication in a related field are preferred.
