Post-Doctoral Associate
About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate with a robust background in molecular biology or virology to join our research program focused on Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) oncology. The ideal candidate will investigate the complex landscape of virus-host interactions, specifically utilizing mass spectrometry-based proteomics to identify host factors essential for EBV persistence. Our goal is to uncover novel therapeutic targets for EBV eradication and the treatment of associated malignancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead independent research projects focused on EBV maintenance and oncogenesis.
- Design and execute mass spectrometry experiments to map viral-host protein interactomes.
- Validate candidate host factors using a variety of molecular and cellular biology techniques.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to translate findings into potential therapeutic strategies.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Education: A Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Virology, Oncology, or a closely related field.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in core molecular techniques, including molecular cloning, immunoprecipitation (IP), cell culture, immunofluorescence (IF), qRT-PCR, Western blotting, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing.
- Scientific Proficiency: A proven track record of independent experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
- Publication Record: First-author publications in peer-reviewed journals within the fields of virology or tumor virology are highly desired.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly.
- Motivation: A strong interest in learning and applying mass spectrometry-based proteomics to virology.
