Post Doctoral Fellow - AR/VR/XR
Possesses, understands, and applies a comprehensive knowledge in area of specialization. Develops understanding and skills to allow for completion of assignments that cross fields of specialization. Develops leadership and management skills.
- Receives/Reviews progress and evaluates results of experiments or projects under control or supervisory responsibility.
- Recommends changes in research, testing or experimental procedures.
- May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment.
- May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel.
- May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control.
- Operates with latitude for unreviewed action.
- May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.
The postdoctoral position is a 1-year position but renewable for multiple years. The CougAR Lab offers a competitive salary and fringe benefits, as well as support for a successful career in academic research. We are also hiring several new research faculty and affiliate researchers into the lab, who bring multiple lines of research on which a postdoctoral researcher could contribute. The successful candidate will be encouraged to submit the output of their work to scientific conferences and professional meetings, and funding for travel to those conferences is available through the lab.
Prospective candidates are required to have a doctoral degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, Communication, or a field closely related to augmented/virtual/mixed reality technologies.
The successful candidates will contribute to multiple research projects in the following areas:
- Developing AR/VR/XR Applications/Systems/Environments
- Data Visualization in AR/VR/XR
- Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Collaboration in AR/VR/XR
- Education/Training/Medical Applications and AR/VR/XR
- AI Virtual Agents and AR/VR/XR
