Post-Doctoral Research Associate (Fixed Term)
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 year in the first instance.
Applications are invited for a post-doctoral research associate to join the group of Professor Bernardes at the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge to work on a Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research funded project investigating Age-related RNA oxidation and ribosomal dysfunction in Parkinson's disease vulnerable dopamine neurons.
The researcher will be responsible for the design, synthesis, purification, and validation of novel RNA-degrading compounds. Expertise in synthetic chemistry, biochemical assay development and live cell imaging is essential for this role.
The successful candidate will have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in chemical biology. They will be highly motivated and able to work independently. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills are required to ensure success in liaising with a large and diverse research team.
