Postdoc in Integrating Hyperspectral Imaging and in-line Vision Technology for Improved Concrete Production
Are you passionate about inline-vision technology in concrete production?
We’re looking for a full-time Postdoc (18 months) to join the Digital Building Technology (DBT) section at DTU, Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering (DTU Construct). In this role, you will integrate advanced vision sensor technologies, materials science principles, and computational image processing methodologies to develop a comprehensive framework for the material characterization. The focus will be on employing hyperspectral imaging techniques to analyse and quantify the physicochemical and structural properties of both individual concrete constituents and the composite material itself at fresh and hardened stages. This position is one out of two postdoc positions granted by Innovation Fund Denmark within the VISTACON project.
Responsibilities
As a part of this project, your responsibilities will encompass the following tasks:
- Characterisation of concrete and its constituents using state-of-the-art techniques, including rheological characterisations.
- Hyperspectral image acquisition and analysis of concrete and raw materials.
- Build a comprehensive hyperspectral image database and its validated labelled images.
- Close collaboration with the rest of our interdisciplinary team at DTU Construct and Vistacon, particularly the other postdoc position focusing on image analysis using deep learning.
- Dissemination of your research through publications in “top rank journals of the field” and attendance to conferences.
- Research and teaching efforts at a section and departmental level as appropriate and relevant (e.g., teach and supervise PhD and MSc student projects).
Qualification
- Background in concrete technology and characterisation.
- Background within image processing, computer vision, or related fields.
- Background within in-line process monitoring or related fields.
- Furthermore, it is an additional advantage if you have knowledge about deep learning-based image analysis, image modality.
Flexibility is essential. We are looking for a team player who can also work independently, who is motivated to help and be part of a dynamic research environment; and, who has a positive, supportive and creative outlook. We expect you to have good communication and personal interaction skills and to be fluent in English.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
