28 Months Fixed Term, Whole-time Post
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Economics at Cork University Business School to contribute to a research programme evaluating the implementation of pharmacogenomics and multiomics in clinical practice.
The role will focus on conducting a comprehensive Health Technology Assessment (HTA), synthesising evidence on clinical effectiveness and safety, pharmacoeconomic and cost-effectiveness outcomes, budget impact, organisational and social considerations, and ethical and legal issues. The findings will help inform clinical, policy and regulatory decision-making around the implementation of these technologies.
A key component of the work will involve developing an ex-ante economic model to identify cost-effective strategies for implementing pharmacogenomic/multiomic markers in clinical practice. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of health economics, pharmacogenomics, multiomics, health technology assessment and healthcare policy, with the potential to inform real-world clinical and regulatory implementation.
The research group comprises of both health economists and clinicians so it provides an excellent, inclusive environment to conduct health economic analyses. The team have a strong track record of high-impact publishing and have been funded with public and industry grants for health economics research in oncology.
The role is funded by Research Ireland and is based in the Department of Economics at Cork University Business School, under the supervision of Dr Ann Kirby.

Salary: €47,273 - €53,925 p.a (IUA PD1 Salary Scale)
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
