The Laird research group at Carnegie Mellon University’s Department of Chemical Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher to support data analysis, application development, and research objectives.
Core Responsibilities:
- Advancing capabilities in optimization-based conceptual design for new process development and improved process understanding.
- Development of open-source tools for training and optimization of machine learning surrogates.
- Interacting with multiple faculty members within the department, as well as industrial and federal project sponsors.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering or related field required.
- 1-3 years of experience in process systems engineering and/or bioprocess modeling
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
