Experimental activities: organic and organometallic synthesis of proligands and gold complexes; identifying the most suitable methods for their purification using major chromatographic systems; and fully characterizing the compounds using spectroscopic methods. Attempting to obtain single crystals for X-ray diffraction characterization.
Dissemination activities: disseminate and promote the results through reports, team seminars, conference presentations, and publications.
Training activities: provide training by sharing knowledge and instructing team members on specific techniques (purification) in compliance with health and safety regulations.
The successful candidate will join the LCC-CNRS UPR 8241 Coordination Chemistry Laboratory in Toulouse, as part of the Chemistry and Medicinal Biology for Oncology team (https://www.lcc-toulouse.fr/chimie-et-biologie-medicinale-pour-loncologie-equipe-o/). The team has recognized expertise in iridium and gold complexes related to biological activities. The successful candidate will work in an academic environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment; the LCC is also a member of the Toulouse Institute of Chemistry (ICT, https://www.univ-tlse3.fr/structures-de-recherche/institut-de-chimie-de-toulouse). The postdoc will be recruited for the medicinal chemistry component of the ANR NEGLECT project (New antileishmanial gold complexes: development and mechanisms of action). The project leader is the LCC's Medicinal Chemistry and Biology for Oncology team. The project will involve regular collaboration with project partners: PharmaDev, the University of Toulouse, and the IRD.
