The Department of Pharmaceutics at Virginia Commonwealth University is currently seeking a passionate and driven postdoctoral fellow in the Nanotherapeutics Lab (https://nanotherapeutics.pharmacy.vcu.edu/) directed by Dr. Qingguo Xu. This research program is focused on translational research to develop novel therapeutics to treat eye diseases, lung diseases, pain and opioid use disorders.
Researchers with a strong background in pharmaceutics, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering or other biomedical research areas are strongly encouraged to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities
The postdoctoral research fellow will perform statistical and bioinformatics analyses on the generated data, contribute to the maintenance and optimization of our analysis pipelines, and publish findings in leading scientific journals. The postdoc fellow will participate in federal grants-funded research projects and get comprehensive training in translational therapeutics. The postdoc fellow will also have chance to participate in mentoring and teaching PhD students from both PharmEng and PharmSci PhD programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successful candidates must hold a PhD in the field of pharmaceutics, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering or a related area.
- The candidates must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research group.
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
