Postdoctoral Neuroscientist
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Neuroscientist to join the Sharott Group at the MRC Centre of Excellence in Restorative Neural Dynamics and the Brain Network Dynamics Unit, University of Oxford. This full-time, fixed-term position is funded by Aligning Science Across Parkinson’s (ASAP) and will start on 1 June 2026.
The postholder will contribute to an exciting international, multi-centre research programme investigating the neural mechanisms underlying sleep and circadian rhythm disturbances in Parkinson’s disease. Using state-of-the-art approaches, the successful candidate will design, execute, analyse and report electrophysiological, photometric and behavioral experiments in rodent models, with a particular emphasis on closed-loop stimulation strategies to restore normative neural dynamics.
Applicants should hold (or have submitted) a PhD in a relevant discipline and have experience in the recording and analysis of electrophysiology and/or optical monitoring of neural activity, and behavioural monitoring in rodents. Experience of sleep research is desirable.
The post is full time, fixed term until May 31st 2029 in the first instance.
