We are seeking candidates with a PhD or MD/PhD degree. A demonstrated record of achievements and publications is required. Candidates are expected to have excellent organizational and communication skills and the critical thinking abilities needed to engage in interactive and discovery-driven research. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Areas of interest:
Synuclein strain biology and biophysical characterization: Candidates with experience in α-synuclein seed amplification assays (SAA/PMCA/RT-QuIC), biophysical characterization of amyloid fibrils (ThT, ANS, DLS, zeta potential, CD), transmission electron microscopy, proteinase K digestion / dot blot.
Neurocircuitry: Candidates with experience using viral vectors, optogenetics, stereotaxic surgery, RNA-seq, single-cell sequencing, and microscopy are preferred.
Stem cell biology: Candidates with experience in the culture, differentiation, and analysis of ES and/or iPS cells. Expertise in biochemistry, ubiquitination, or poly(ADP-ribose) biology is preferred.
Neuroinflammation: Expertise in adaptive and/or innate immunity is preferred.
Structural biology: Expertise in protein biochemistry and protein crystallization or cryo-EM is preferred, including the ability to apply the latest cryo-EM technologies such as in situ cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-ET) on tissue, focused ion beam (FIB) milling, and subtomogram averaging.
