Our research focuses on how mitochondrial dysfunction, metabolic dysregulation, and cellular stress contribute to neurodegeneration, with the ultimate goal of identifying new therapeutic strategies.
Our multidisciplinary research program combines:
- Patient-derived iPSC neuronal models
- Transgenic and disease-relevant animal models
- Molecular, cellular, and mitochondrial biology
- Metabolism, mito-immune and neurodegeneration
- Therapeutic discovery and development, including rationally designed peptide inhibitors of protein–protein interactions and high-throughput screening for mitochondrial functional enhancers.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to lead projects investigating the molecular basis of mitochondrial damage and metabolic dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases, while contributing to the development of new disease-modifying therapeutic approaches.
We are looking for candidates with a PhD and/or MD in neuroscience, molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field. Experience in neurodegenerative disease, mitochondrial biology, iPSC models, or transgenic mouse models is particularly desirable.
